The aim of the permanent Diffiety School is to introduce undergraduate and Ph. D. students in mathematics and physics as well as post-doctoral researchers in a recently emerged area of mathematics and theoretical physics: general theory of nonlinear partial differential equations (NPDE) and its applications, first of all, to mechanics and physics. Basic parts of this new theory are “Secondary Calculus” and “Differential Calculus over Commutative Algebras”. The theory includes also the traditional research methods in differential equations and is a unique synthesis of differential geometry, algebraic and differential topology, commutative and homological algebra, group theory and theory of Lie groups, and a number of other areas of contemporary mathematics. Its actual and potential applications stretch from control theory problems to problems of quantum field theory. More information about Diffiety Schools can be found on the Diffiety School’s website http://www.levi-civita.org.

To apply please fulfill the registration form on the site http://www.levi-civita.org. Participants are invited to present short talks (about 15 minutes). There is no registration fee. Working languages are English and Russian.

Applicants will be selected by the Chairman of the School Prof. A. M. Vinogradov.
During the selection process, applicants may be requested to provide their curriculum and/or scientific background. Selection criteria are mainly based on the following: participants are required to be familiar with fundamentals of commutative algebra, topological and differential geometry. Students (and PhD-students ) must provide a letter from their supervisor or the head of the department certifying their full-time student status. An electronic version of the letter (such as a pdf or jpg file) should be sent to the Organizing Committee. Admitted participants will be duly informed by e-mail.

Location: Voronezh is a historic city in central Russia, the administrative centre of Voronezh Oblast. It is located at the river Voronezh, a left tributary of the river Don.

DEADLINE: Application must be sent not later than Saturday, 30th of December, 2014.

Please inform us if you need an official invitation from the Organizing Committee.

Accommodation in the VSU Student Hostel is free for participants. More comfortable conditions can be found in Voronezh hotels but this is on charge of participants. We encourage the participants to inform the Organizing Committee about their preferences as soon as possible.

Travel and meals expenses are on charge of participants.

Classes and seminars will take place at Voronezh State University. A detailed schedule of the school activities will be published later.

The Organizing Committee expresses its gratitude to those who spread the news about the School in their University/Department.
